GUMMYSEARCH SHUT DOWN

What happened to GummySearch and what to do before Dec 1, 2026.

GummySearch, the leading Reddit audience-research tool, couldn't reach a commercial licensing agreement for the Reddit data API. It closed to new signups in November 2025 and shuts down completely, deleting all user data, on December 1, 2026. Here's the timeline, what to export while you still can, and where ex-users are going.

The shutdown timeline

Nov 30, 2025

GummySearch closes to new signups after failing to secure a commercial license for the Reddit data API.

Dec 2025 – Nov 2026

Transition year: existing annual customers keep access while they migrate off the platform.

Nov 30, 2026

The transition year ends. Last day of GummySearch access.

Dec 1, 2026

Full shutdown. Accounts close and all user data, saved audiences, tracked keywords, research, is permanently deleted.

BEFORE THE DEADLINE

Export this before December 1, 2026.

Once the shutdown completes, accounts and data are deleted, there is no recovery window. If you're on the transition year, set aside thirty minutes for this list:

  • Export your saved Audiences (Custom and Curated), at minimum, the list of subreddits in each.
  • Save any Pain Points, Solution Requests, and Patterns research you still reference.
  • Copy out tracked keywords and any AI summaries attached to active projects.
  • Note which conversations or threads you bookmarked, the Reddit URLs survive even after GummySearch doesn't.

Where GummySearch users are going

GummySearch did three different jobs, and the honest answer is that no single tool replaces all three. Pick by the job you actually used it for:

  • Audience research → ad creative. If you used Audiences, Pain Points, and Patterns to understand buyers and write copy, that's Adlicio's lane: comments and reviews mined into ranked ad angles, across Reddit and 9+ other platforms, with no API dependency to break.
  • Keyword alerts & monitoring. If you mainly tracked mentions of your brand or keywords, a dedicated monitor like Syften or the free F5Bot fits better, that was never Adlicio's job.
  • Lead generation from Reddit. If you used it to find threads to reply to for leads, the lead-gen tools that have sprung up around the shutdown (RedReach and similar) are built for exactly that.

For the research-to-creative job, see the full feature-by-feature mapping on our GummySearch comparison page.
